Dr. Larry Scally is CAES APD’s Vice President of Advanced Programs. Most recently, he was CEI’s Co-founder, President and Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Scally has diverse systems, hardware, firmware and software experience in radar, communication, EW and SIGINT in the areas of electromagnetics, antenna design, RF design, DSP and high performance processing. He spent five years on Kwajalein upgrading, maintaining and operating the TRADEX L/S band radar. He co-founded Catalina Research in 1990 and served as President and CTO. Dr. Scally earned a Ph.D.E.E in Electromagnetics/Remote Sensing from the University of Colorado Boulder, and Master of Business Administration, Master of Electrical Engineering and Bachelor in Electrical Engineering degrees from Villanova University.


Sherry Burghardt is CAES APD’s Vice President of Operations. She manages operations processes and procedures, and provides financial and benefits administration and contracting for military and commercial customers. She also has extensive experience with purchasing and production. Prior to working at APD, she served as Computer Specialist at Karval Online Education and Software Engineer and Computer Specialist at Sirius Retail LLC. Sherry is pursuing an M.B.A. through Kansas State University’s distance learning program. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business from Bellevue University and an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan Community College.
Michael J. Bonato is CAES APD’s Vice President of Program Management. He was previously CEI’s Vice President of Advanced Systems. His background includes management of advanced technology development programs and general business operations with systems engineering experience in radar, –INT, and digital signal processing applications. He earned an MBA (Finance) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Greg Deemer is CAES APD’s Director of Business Development. His background includes a broad range of experience in hardware design, programming (firmware & software), systems engineering, testing and deployment of commercial, DoD, automotive and financial applications. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado in 2006.
