Business Development Manager

CEI has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to provide business development leadership and account management for its growing Department of Defense (DoD) business.

The Business Development Manager will develop and execute a growth strategy, pipeline generation, and new business awards targeted at growing DoD and Federal customers. Primary focus will be on the identification, development, qualification, and capture of large, strategic opportunities within the DoD market.

Job Duties

  • Win new business associated with DoD customers focused on Radio Frequency (RF) solutions (radar, communications, etc.), High Performance Computing (HPC), software, systems, and sub-systems.
  • Maintain a strong network of customer contacts; must be familiar with the Air Force, Navy, and other DoD customer programs and upcoming initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and account strategies; identify and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and continually progress a pipeline of strategically relevant business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with partner companies, develop price analysis, and bid winning solutions.
  • Develop reports, briefings, and other management materials to support Executive Management decision making.
  • Work with all roles within CEI, including engineering, to meet customer objectives.
  • Continually develop and disseminate information to all parties concerning the fulfillment of sector business growth goals and objectives.

Required Professional Experience

  • Related work experience within the DoD markets with at least five years conducting Business Development within the defense solution markets.
  • Knowledge of RF, HPC and software systems/sub-systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal procurement process and a demonstrated proficiency of Intelligence and DoD strategy and acquisition plans.
  • Knowledge of the DoD budget preparation and execution process.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute the business development function with minimal supervision.
  • Effective leadership/participation in formal presentations to clients and potential teaming partners.
  • Proven track record of building winning teams and successfully negotiating with potential team members regarding their roles and participation.
  • Detailed insight into DoD current and future programs is strongly desired.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to qualify for security clearance is required.
